Ethical Culture – the Role of the Board

The Ted Rogers Leadership Centre is pleased to announce the following free webinar, offered in collaboration with the Canadian Centre for Ethics and Corporate Policy: “Ethical Culture – the Role of the Board”

Ilona Niemi, PhD, MPM

Tuesday, October 24

10am-11am

Ethical culture is critical for a company’s success, impacting everything from trust and reputation to long-term growth. It ensures that the company operates with integrity, values, and principles that align with societal norms and legal requirements. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to ethics. The best programs are tailored to the specific risks within an organization and are agile to adapt to the ever-evolving business landscape. This session focuses on the crucial role that the board of directors (“board”) plays in overseeing the establishment and maintenance of an ethical culture that aligns with the organization. The discussion will:

  1. Explore the responsibilities of the board in fostering and maintaining an ethical culture within an organization.
  2. Provide insights into best practices for setting the ethical tone, which is essential to support management in establishing ethical frameworks and integrating ethics into strategy and decision-making processes.
  3. Review current challenges that boards may encounter, e.g. AI deployment, and discuss how to address emerging ethical dilemmas
