Speaker: Nélia Teixeira
Nélia Teixeira is a lawyer, designer, and professor at George Brown College, where she teaches Laws and Regulations in the Blockchain Development Program, Canada’s first college certificate program in blockchain technology.
Through her consultancy, Legal by Design, Nélia advises clients in the emerging technology space and helps them navigate the changing regulatory landscape, as well as design solutions to business problems. Nélia holds a J.D. from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law, a B.A. from York University in International Studies, and is currently a M.Design Candidate in Strategic Foresight and Innovation at OCAD University.
Nélia has a deep interest in systems thinking and understanding how change happens. She is a proponent of ethical design and interdisciplinary research, and uses this approach to understand opportunities and challenges from a systemic perspective.
